Bullock Festival

Bullock Festival

Today’s bullock festival was a crazy, chaotic event. People dress up their cows, paint their horns, and herd them around the Mandir (temple) five times. And everyone comes into the town center to watch. Today, because three white-skinned foreigners were there, many of the people spent more time watching us than the bulls. There were thousands of people there, standing on buildings, fences, and in the street, and I almost got trampled by both the cows and people. Sometimes I almost couldn’t move because people were surrounding me, welcoming me to India and shaking my hand. Still it was fun.20070910-6.jpg20070910-2.jpg20070910-4.jpg
