Gaju’s Village
Today Denny and I biked eight km to Gaju’s village in a tribal area near Umarkhed. It was amazingly peaceful just hanging out with a friend, unable to communicate more than a few words. I felt totally comfortable just hanging out on his front steps watching the cows, goats and people make their way home before it got dark. At one time a few small goats came up to us and started bleating. They then went around us into the house, like dogs coming home, unbeckoned. Gaju’s home is mostly earthen floored, so it’s not like they’re tracking their muddy feet all over the nice rug.
