Amravati
During our whirlwind visit to Amravati we visited the university (of which Gawande College is affiliated), a high school where Beth’s aunt has contributed to a clean water project, and a few houses of relatives of Dr. and Mrs. Raut. We were only there for part of one day but it felt like much longer. At Amravati University we got a tour of the zoology department, including a peek at their collection of rare spiders. The big one in the photos they described as a “banana spider,” a species only recently discovered in India.
